Richland Center, WI: Richland County Emergency Management met with representatives from the National Weather Service this morning to confirm tornado activity and continue assessing the damage of last night’s severe thunderstorm. The survey of the damage has been completed and the National Weather Service will now analyze radar data and review aerial photos provided by local ARES/RACES volunteers to make a determination. At this time it is unknown if the damage was caused by straight line winds, down bursts of wind, or an actual tornado.
Approximately 30 properties in Richland County have reported property damage from this storm. Citizens who wish to report noteworthy property damage should contact Richland County Emergency Management at (608) 647-8187. Individuals willing to share storm pictures or video footage should email their documents to weather@co.richland.wi.us. Please include your name and contact information so that appropriate credit can be given. Visit the Richland County website at em.co.richland.wi.us for further updates.
