Winter storm to bring several inches of snow to the region Friday through Saturday, blowing and drifting some of that snow on Saturday. There will be significant impacts to travel over the period. Plan now for winter driving conditions and consider altering travel plans to avoid peak snow and wind hazards. After the storm moves through, another shot of cold air will hit the area. Wind chills Sunday morning could range from 25 to 45 below zero.
Flood Related Resources and Assistance
Richland Center, WI: Richland County Health and Human Services is offering flood related resources and assistance to those Richland County residents that suffered flood related damages.
Resources and Assistance will be available through Richland County Health and Human Services at 221 W Seminary Street, Richland Center, WI 53581 from 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
Resources and Assistance available to those eligible include:
- Clean up kits
- Water test kits for private wells
- Food Share replacement benefits
- Goodwill vouchers
- Salvation Army vouchers
- Food Safety and Cleaning resources
- Furnace repair/replacement
- American Red Cross Assistance

Press Release #3 – Individuals Encouraged to Report Damages
Richland County, WI: The flooding that has once again hit Richland County has been seen to have a negative impact on many residences in our area. Damage assessments are ongoing, as the waters continue to affect roads and property.
Richland County Emergency Management encourages individuals impacted by this flood event to photograph and document any damage to their primary residence. Thorough documentation of damages aids individuals in experiencing a more favorable recovery process. Individuals who wish to report damage to their primary residence are encouraged to call 608-649-5767. This line may also be used to report other non-life threatening situations. An operator will be available between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday).
Resources also available to residents include clean-up kits from the American Red Cross and sandbags. Those wishing to obtain a clean-up kit can go to Richland Center’s Community Center, located at 1050 N Orange St, Richland Center, WI 53581. Limited quantities available but more are on the way. Upon their arrival, clean-up kits will also be available in the townships of Hub City, Port Andrew, Rockbridge, and Yuba. Sand bags are available through the municipalities and Emergency Management via the number listed above.

Press Release #2 – Flash Flood Causes Local Road Closures
Richland County, WI: Much of Richland County experiencing flooding due to the recent 7-9in of rain that fell, leading to the declaration of a State of Emergency.
This flash flooding has caused some roads throughout the county to be closed. As of 1:30pm this afternoon, the following roads were closed: State Highway 56, State Highway 80, State Highway 131, State Highway 171, County Highway AA, County Highway C, County Highway D, County Highway DD, County Highway E, County Highway F, County Highway G, County Highway MM, County Highway N, County Highway NN, County Highway Q, County Highway SR, County Highway TB, County Highway W, County Highway U, Bohmann Dr, Cribben Hill Road, Engine Creek Road, Judson Lane. Individuals may call 608-649-5766 to obtain up-to-date information about road closures and alternative routes.
A declaration of a State of Emergency had been made for Richland County and the City of Richland Center. Travel only if necessary, using extreme caution. Movement around the County may be dangerous, as many roads continue to be impacted by high water or debris. Remember “Turn around, don’t drown”! When water covers a roadway, there is no way to know the condition of the road to ensure it has not washed out. Water over roadways can also cause damage to a vehicle and/or sweep it away in the flowing water.
